Margaret Smart is a Winona County Extension Master Gardener. She originally got got into gardening to fix the weedy spot between the front steps and the porch at her first house. Workshop Speakers and Master Gardeners In this fast paced event several speakers will quickly give you information on various gardening topics.
Chris Schad one of our workshop speakers, a biologist a bee expert who also does prairie restoration with an eye for pollinators will talk about small-scale prairie restoration. Ranger Ed Lagace, also one of our workshop speakers, is the outreach coordinator for the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge. Ed will talk about the 'Friends of the Headwaters" program, a citizen-based non-profit working with and supporting the Refuge. Sue Ann Mullen developed her love of oriental grasses during her nine years as a Winona County Extension Master Gardener. She will talk about grasses for cold climates and how they can enhance any garden design. Jake Overgard Winona County Extension Educator on Agricultural Production Systems will present on pruning raspberries. . |
